The Asian American Advocacy Fund is hosting a townhall about an issue on the ballot for Gwinnett voters in November: expanding public transit. The Georgia Muslim Voter Project (GAMVP), the City of Clarkston, Refugee Women's Network (RWN), and Women Watch Afrika (WWA) are hosting a candidate town hall, and attendees will have a chance to connect directly with candidates running for Clarkston City Council, State House, State Senate, and Dekalb County Commission. Decatur-based Chai Pani is hosting a Diwali Mela, featuring food and drink specials (aloo paratha and badam milk), a Pani Puri station, free henna, and fireworks.

The annual storytelling festival features a children's parade, storytellers, performers, literacy activities and giveaways, as well as food from around the world. The event is hosted by CDF Action and the City of Clarkston, and hosted by a range of community partners.

The first ever Bangladeshi Food Festival is this Sunday, hosted by the Bangladeshi Students Association of Atlanta. Attendees can enjoy food as well as music, and activities like henna and face painting.    

The Consulate General of Mexico and the Institute of Mexican Culture is hosting a Day of the Dead Festival, featuring music, dancing, crafts, face painting, and a Catrina and Catrina costume contest. Dressing up is encouraged.
