The city of Clarkston is hosting its annual Juneteenth festival, to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, throughout Downtown Market Street. The day long will festival will include discussions, cultural performances, and "opportunities for meaningful engagement and reflection," according to the event website.
The Alif Institute is hosting a cooking class where participants will learn to cook shakhshuka, an "originally Tunisian meal made by the combination of simmering tomatoes and / or red pepper sauce, onions, garlic, spices and gently poached eggs." Details here.
