Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta is distributing free groceries for local families.    

Raksha is hosting a reception to mark the opening of its art show, "Unsung, Unseen: Stories of Hope, Courage, and Resilience." The event will include original art by local artists, soft beverages, and hors d'ouevures.  RSVP strongly encouraged.

The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights (GLAHR) and partners are launching “3 Days of Action Against HB 1105’’ at Liberty Plaza. Groups are demanding Governor Brian Kemp veto HB1105, a bill that advocates say unfairly targets immigrants.

The Latin American Association is hosting its 9th annual Latina Empowerment Conference. The day-long event will include talks, workshops, and lunch. The conference's keynote speaker is Alexandra Ramirez,  financial expert on “Despierta América” from Univision TV.

The Alif Institute is hosting a cooking class with guest chef Hadia Ibrahim. Participants will learn how to make "kafta bi-siniyeh," which is seasoned ground beef shaped into oblong pieces, baked with potatoes and tahini sauce.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Atlanta is hosting  SouthEATS 2024, its 9th annual food-centered Asian Pacific American History Month celebration.  The event will include food from Canton House, as well as immersive art from AAPI artists, and crafts for kids.  

Istanbul Cultural Center of Atlanta is hosting the 14th annual Turkish food festival this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday. Expect to find a variety of foods including shish kebab, Mediterrannen salads, and homemade bread, as well as activities for the family.

Plaza Fiesta is hosting a mariachi band, which will serenade to mothers, as well as contests and prizes, according to the event website.

The Latin American Association (LAA) is inviting folks to a fundraising mixer at Tio Lucho's. Ticket sales and 15% of dinner sales will be donated to the LAA's programs supporting Latino community members in the Atlanta area. Buy $10 tickets here.

The Alif Institute and Arab American Women's Society of Georgia is hosting a ladies-only outdoor brunch for mothers. Tickets must be purchased before May 13 and are $30 - you can buy them here.

The Asian American Advocacy Fund is hosting a townhall in partnership with the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition Action, ahead of the Gwinnett County’s school board elections. Food will be catered by Asma's Cuisine. Register here.
