The Latin American Association is holding a workshop to help graduating seniors with their college essays.  Participants will receive feedback on their essays as well as tips for writing them. The workshop is free - register here.

Check out Eid Fest at the Westlake High School stadium grounds this weekend, where there will be a range of activities including a "virtual theme park experience," flag football, track races, obstacle courses, bounce houses, as well as food trucks.  $10 for admission. El Refugio, a nonprofit that supports those detained at the Stewart Detention Center and their loved ones, is gathering donations for departure bags that will be given to people who have been released from the detention facility. Donations needed include: new shoes, socks, undergarments, and pants. More details here.

Raksha, a South Asian community organization that supports survivors of domestic violence, is launhcing its annual Art Show. The show, titled Leap of Faith, will feature art that shows how "leaps of faith turned vision in reality." Raksha, a South Asian community organization, along with the Emory Asian Student Center, are gathering to write letters to survivors of domestic violence and paint tote bags. The groups are also seeking donated items like cleaning supplies, hygiene items, and snacks/non-perishable foods. More info here.

The Alif Institute is hosting a Dabke (traditional folk dance in the Levant, including in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan) workshop led by the group Al Fursan. Georgia State University's School of Film, Media & Theatre and Daffodil Studios are hosting a screening of Saffron Kingdom, a drama about the journey of a Kashmiri  family that begins with their life in Srinagar in the 1990s to their life in the suburbs of Atlanta in 2019.  More info here.

Adobo, a Filipino-American restaurant and catering service, is hosting the fifth annual Fil-Am Fest, where you can check out Filipino-American businesses and organizations at this festival marking Filipino Food Month.  The day long festival will include live music, performances, and Filipino cuisine. Stone Mountain Park is hosting its third annual Latino Family Festival, which kicks off April 26 and 27, and continues May 3 and 4. The festival will include a drone and light show, performances (mariachi, flamenco dancers, Aztec dancers), as we  as a parade. More info here.

El Refugio, a nonprofit that runs a hospitality house for those visiting their loved ones being held at the Stewart Detention Center, is hosting a concert, with musicians Rebekka Goldsmith and Will Robertson, to raise money for their work.
