Film screening of Mississippi Masala (USA-UK, 1991), followed by a discussion panel with film scholars Dr. Koel Banerjee and Dr. Ankita Rathour. Free Indian food will be provided. "Directed by Mira Nair, Mississippi Masala is a film about postcolonial displacement, nostalgia, and the urgent need for cross racial empathy."
Corazón a Corazón, an Atlanta-based open-mic and poetry slam group, is celebrating their 4th Anniversary at Atlanta Chinatown.
Shop Welcome is a "community yard sale" featuring second-hand clothes, local bites, and coffee. All proceeds will go towards the Welcome Co-op, a non-profit supporting refugees resettling in Georgia.
